Mail carriers collect food for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

Carrollwood, Florida - Mail carriers will take part in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Residents can leave non-perishable food item by their mailbox and the letter carrier will pick it up. The food will be donated to food banks to distribute to needy citizens.

Last year, over 70-million pounds of food was donated across the country.

If you cannot leave food items by your mailbox, you can drop it by your local post office.

Hernando County officials want sinkhole relief

BROOKSVILLE, Florida (AP) - Hernando County Commissioners are appealing to state and federal legislators for sinkhole relief.

The Tampa Tribune reports that since 2000, the property appraiser's office has recorded 6,106 sinkhole properties in Hernando County. Of those, 2,726 were repaired and 3,380 were not repaired.

The commission will send a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for financial relief.

Hernando County, Florida-- Sheriff Al Nienhuis has announced a new Hernando County Sheriff's Office plan for pinching those tax-payer pennies!

According to Sheriff Nienhuis, inmates from the Hernando County Detention Center will now be responsible for the landscaping and grounds maintenance at both the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and the Hernando County Detention Center.

Man threatens to kill ex-girlfriend on Facebook

Spring Hill, Florida -- A Spring Hill man extremely upset that his ex-girlfriend had moved on with another man was arrested Wednesday after he made multiple threats to kill the couple on their Facebook pages.

Amy White notified Pasco Sheriff's deputies her ex-boyfriend of five years Seth Warner has been sending her and her new boyfriend threatening messages on Facebook. The two also share a child.
