Drug deal gone bad leads to false robbery report

Hernando County, Florida -- A man was arrested for falsely reporting a robbery after detectives discovered he was never robbed at all -- it was just a drug deal gone bad.

Hernando Sheriff's deputies say on April 19, 49-year-old Steven Peluso told them someone stole $100 in cash from him at gunpoint, however, deputies noted several inconsistencies in his story.

When detectives interviewed Peluso further about the incident, he gave the same story. When they pointed out the many inconsistencies in the story, he finally admitted he'd made the whole thing up.
