In celebration of National Small Business Week, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of South Florida (USF) in conjunction with the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Administration will be hosting a free half day business financing panel presentation Meet the Lenders on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce from 9 – 11:30 AM, including networking.

Tampa real estate booming; leads state

Tampa, Florida-- The numbers are in, and they are up! More homes were sold last month in the Tampa Bay area than in in the past seven years combined.

According to MLS figures, 3,100 homes were sold in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties last month, a 7 percent increase compared to the same month in 2012.

Home sales prices also increased, up 22 percent over the same time period. 

The average home in the Tampa Bay area sold for $150,000.

Congressman Bilirakis hosts free job fair at Pasco-Hernando CC

Dade City, FL -- The office of U.S. representative Gus Bilirakis has announced that the congressman will hold a job fair on May 2, at Pasco-Hernando Community College. The event will bring together more than 30 employers from various fields including banking, law enforcement, education, retail, hospitality, technology, community services and healthcare.

Hernando County, Florida-- The Hernando County Chamber of Commerce invites residents to apply for the "Leadership Hernando" Class of 2013. 

According to their website, Leadership Hernando, the largest community leadership program in Hernando County, creates opportunities to observe, interact and learn from public, private and civic leaders across the county. 

Since 1992, the mission of Leadership Hernando has been to encourage, develop and provide leadership for our community.

SBDC partners with the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce

Hernando County, Florida-- The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce has continued it’s partnership with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of South Florida (USF) providing FREE business consultations to small businesses and entrepreneurs in Hernando County (consultations are open to the public).

Consultations and access to all SBDC services are available at the Chamber office, 15588 Aviation Loop Dr., Brooksville.
