Woman steals from Target store twice in one day

Spring Hill, Florida -- Instead of taking off with what she got the first time, a woman returned to a Spring Hill Target to steal more during the same visit.

Police say Laura Green, 50, admitted to walking into the Target, at 4401 Commercial Way, grabbing plastic bags from a vacant register, filling them with various items and walking out of store without paying for them.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay area man has been convicted for murdering a teen during a carjacking.

A Hernando County jury found 21-year-old Steven Wesolek guilty Friday of first-degree murder, attempted murder, carjacking with a firearm and robbery with a deadly weapon. He faces a possible death sentence.

Cops say juvenile counselor sexually battered 8-year-old girl

Brooksville, Florida -- A high risk juvenile counselor was arrested Wednesday after police discovered he had been sexually battering an 8-year-old girl.

According to the Brooksville Police Department, on May 7, detectives interviewed the girl who told them 44-year-old Mark Anthony Henry had sexually battered her several times at the Brook Haven Apartments in December 2011.

During a taped interview with detectives on May 9, they say Henry admitted to the crime.

Brooksville, Florida -- A 17-year-old Central High School student was arrested Wednesday for stealing a janitor's phone.

The Head Janitor of Central High School in Brooksville stepped out of his office on Tuesday, and returned to find his cell phone, charger, and a set of keys missing. Sprint used its GPS on the janitor's phone to track it to the teen's home.

Deputies arrived at the home and made contact with the student and his mother. At first, the student claimed he found the phone and keys on the floor of the school's cafeteria.

Brooksville, Florida -- Brooksville Police arrested a man who they say stole the change machine off the wall of a local laundromat.

Police on Saturday were called to the Cheapest Wash in Town Laundromat in response to a theft. Officers found the change machine had been ripped off the wall and stolen. They also noticed a vending machine was damaged, and it looked like someone tried to open the machine's bill storage area.

Authorities say the woman in these pictures used a stolen ATM card in Brooksville and Hernando County.

Man threatens to blow up animal services building

Brooksville, Florida -- Police have arrested a man they say made bomb and death threats to Hernando County Animal Services employees.

During their investigation, detectives recovered information and documentation that Peter Dalessandro, of Riverview, had made similar threats over the phone in the past. The latest threat was made on April 20.

Dalessandro, 52, was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with six counts of threatening to place/discharge a destructive device and five counts of assault.
