Robber caught stealing case for stolen phone | Crime
Spring Hill, FL -- A man was caught Friday after he wrestled away from an arresting officer and fled to a wooded area behind a Spring Hill Best Buy.
According to the police report, around 1:43 p.m. on Feb. 10, 26-year-old Adam Carter was caught stealing a Samsung cell phone case from the Best Buy on Wendy Ct., the same store he stole a Samsung cell phone from on Jan. 9. When the officer tried to put Carter in the police car he attempted to flee. When the officer grabbed Carter by the handcuffs, he started to twist his wrists causing bruising and cuts to the officers hand and forearm.
Carter broke free and jumped the fence behind the plaza and disappeared into the heavily wooded area. Carter was found a short time later by the air unit and was arrested. He was also arrested on Jan. 14 for Retail Theft but provided a fake address so he could bond out.
Carter, currently homeless, is being held without bond on charges of Retail Theft, Battery on Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting with Violence, and Escape.
