Pair caught with backpack full of marijuana | Crime

Spring Hill, Florida -- Two people were arrested on Dec. 29 after they were caught smoking, and in possession of, marijuana.

A Hernando County deputy reported he spotted the pair in a Saturn Ion parked behind Amnesia Bar on Mariner Boulevard close to midnight that night. As he approached the car, he saw Gerrie Brown trying to hide himself between the dashboard and the passenger seat. When the driver, Dana Amendolare, opened the door, the deputy reported he smelled the strong odor of marijuana.

During a search of Brown's possessions, the deputy found a marijuana cigarette and a backpack containing seven clear individual baggies containing a total of 97 grams of marijuana. Approximately 3 grams of marijuana was also found in Amendolare's purse.

Both were arrested. Amendolare, 22, was charged with possession of cannabis under 20 grams. Brown, 22, was charged with possession of cannabis over 20 grams and possession of cannabis with intent to sell. He is currently being held on $10,000 bond.
