Hernando County, Fla. -- Hernando County announced Friday, Feb. 17 that after addressing a few high spots, the staff has confirmed that all dredging in the channel is complete.
The demobilization of all barges is underway with only two remaining. One barge, stationed to the west of the Hernando Beach Channel tripod, is scheduled for removal in the next week. The final barge and excavator will remain to restore Snapper Canal at the dredged material offloading site.
The county reports the contractor is continuing to work on the punch list items and is on track to meet the March 23 deadline.
