USA- Today -- Check those Powerball tickets Florida residents: One of you is holding the winning ticket in the record $590.5 million jackpot.

The winning numbers in Saturday night's Powerball drawing are 10, 13, 14, 22, 52 and 11, and one ticket sold in Florida has matched all six numbers for a record Powerball jackpot of an estimated $590.5 million, lottery officials said Sunday.

Black bear captured in Tampa neighborhood

Tampa, Florida -- A 300-pound black bear wandered into a Tampa neighborhood this morning and up a tree before wildlife officials captured the animal by shooting it with two tranquilizer darts.

Eloy Perez first spotted the bear in the backyard home at 2817 Broad Street W. after letting his dog outside.

"The dog saw it behind the oak tree and went up to it and started barking at (the bear)," Perez recalled.

Brooksville, FL -- The Hernando County Tourism Bureau has announced the launch of its new website: www.naturallyhernando.org.

The redesigned and expanded website offers more in-depth content, features listings for tourism partners in Hernando County, and highlights the activities offered on the Nature Coast.

The Tourism Bureau says all the details needed to plan a Nature Coast vacation can be found on the new site, which includes intuitive, user-friendly content and navigation along with photos for visual appeal.

Suspect steals credit card from 10 year acquaintance

Hernando County, Florida-- An investigation into a stolen credit card ends a little over a month later with the arrest of a suspect who knew the man he stole it from for over 10 years. 

According to Hernando County deputies, the victim reported his credit card as stolen in Pasco County back on April 8.

The card was reportedly used in many Hernando County stores, but after detectives reviewed surveillance from one of them with the man missing his card, they were able to place a name to the face in the footage. 

Large amount of smoke closes Brooksville road

Brooksville, Florida-- Update: Cobb Road reopened around 11 p.m. Monday night.

Hernando County Sheriff's officials want motorists to know Cobb Road is currently closed from US 98 to Yontz Road in Brooksville.

Reports say about 400,000 cubic yards of mulch and natural vegetation caught fire at DAB Contractors off Camp Mine Road some time before 2:45 p.m. 

Man gets 50 years for killing brother

BROOKSVILLE, Florida (AP) - A Tampa Bay area man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for killing his brother.

A Hernando County judge sentenced 24-year-old Stanley Elias Eckard on Monday. A jury convicted him last month of second-degree murder after he turned down a deal from prosecutors for 20 years in prison.
