Toddler dies after falling into family pool | News

SPRING HILL, Florida (AP) - Authorities say a toddler apparently drowned after falling into a pool at his family's Tampa Bay area home.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that the 9-month-old boy's father called 911 Thursday morning. He performed CPR on the child until paramedics arrived to take him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

Detectives were still investigating, but they believe the death was likely an accident.

No charges were immediately filed.
