Local rapper, singer focus on anti-bullying message | News

Tampa, Florida -- Together, singer Stevie Johns and rapper Amp Music are the voices of "Bring it Back," a club track, with more than 100,000 views on YouTube, that keeps kids in mind.

"Even if you can't even go to a club, you could still dance to it at home," Johns says.

Profanity and suggestive messages stay out of their music.

"The moral level of rap music today, in my opinion, is absolutely horrible. It's totally unnecessary," says their producer, Bryan Tyson, of Deep Productions. 

He's worked with artists ranging from Plies to DJ Khaled. 

"You don't have to do profanity to make good music."

They're trying to create songs that even young kids could listen to on the radio, and their tune changed even more last month, when 12-year-old Miguel Rodriguez took his own life in Spring Hill. 

It hit home for the musicians, especially with reports that Miguel Rodriguez may have been bullied.

"We gotta do something. We've all got to join together and make sure that's the last one, that's the last time this ever happens," Johns says.
