Tourist Development Council to meet

Hernando County, FL -- The Hernando County Tourist Development Council will meet on Thursday, Jan. 26 to discuss ways on developing and promoting tourism in the county.

The meeting time is 2:30 p.m. and will be held at the Microtel Inn and Suites I-75, 6298 Nature Coast Blvd., Brooksville, Florida. the public is invited to attend.

The Tourist Development Council typically meets on the fourth Thursday of each month.

Early voting begins Jan. 21

Hernando County, FL --  Early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary Election for registered voters in Hernando County begins Saturday, Jan. 21.

Only voters registered by the Jan. 3 deadline are eligible to vote in the Primary election. Early voting will end on Jan. 28, and regular voting for the Primary will take place on Jan. 31.

The Hernando County Supervisor of Elections wants to remind you that early voting does not take place at your regular polling place.

Brooksville, FL -- The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners wants to know what you think about increasing transportation services provided by THE Bus.

Beginning Jan. 3, and continuing for 30 days, the Board will receive public comments regarding the proposed changes to the fixed-route transit system.

County hires recruiting firm to search for administrator

Brooksville, FL -- Hernando County announced Tuesday they will hire a recruiting firm to search for candidates for the vacant County Administrator position.

At a board meeting, County Commissioners approved a quote from Colin Baenziger & Associates of Wellington, Florida in Palm Beach County to recruit a new Hernando County Administrator at a cost of $21,500.

The County Commissioners will have input as to the search parameters with local preference. Projected date for candidate interviews is March 8.

Hernando County, FL -- You one-stop-shop to all your election information from the Hernando County Supervisor of Elections.

UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS NOW TO AVOID PROBLEMS LATER

A voter who changes his/her address on Election Day at the polling place from one Florida county to another will have to vote a provisional ballot per Florida Law.
