Chick-fil-A, Children's Cancer Center collect "Fuel for Families"

Tampa, FL-- There are 38 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Bay area, and each and every one of them are working alongside the Children's Cancer Center to provide "Fuel for Families" this November.

The “Fuel for Families” challenge will collect grocery and gas gift cards for families who struggle financially to get their children to critical medical visits, and to provide them with healthy meals while undergoing treatment, explains a release about the initiative.

Spring Hill, Florida-- SONIC announced today that it will reopen its Spring Hill SONIC Drive-In location.

"We are responding to the community's request for the Spring Hill SONIC location to re-open," said Orlando area Hotel and Restaurant developer Matt Gillio in a recent release. "The Bella Grande Franchise Group really appreciates Hernando County's support, and we will strive to live up to the community's expectations."

McDonald's offers free FCAT breakfasts Monday morning

Tampa, Florida-- According to a recent release, more than 800 McDonald's restaurants in the state of Florida will provide a free breakfast to students on April 16, the first day of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).

Students in grades three-11 can enjoy a complimentary Egg McMuffin, Apple Slices, and a low-fat milk or orange juice from any of the 188 McDonald's restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.

Be sure to get there between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to take advantage of this offer!

Local restaurant to hold fundraiser for fallen deputy's family

Brooksville, FL - Beef 'O' Brady's is hoping to raise $7,500 for the family of John Mecklenburg, a Hernando Sheriff's deputy who's cruiser crashed into a tree during a pursuit in July.

Dan Heavrin is an operating partner of the Beef's of Brooksville and is hosting a day of family fun to get money for Mecklenburg's wife and two young children.

The event will be staged outside the Beef 'O' Brady's at 7601 Horse Lake Road in Brooksville and begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.
