Hernando County Tourism Bureau launches new website

Brooksville, FL -- The Hernando County Tourism Bureau has announced the launch of its new website: www.naturallyhernando.org.

The redesigned and expanded website offers more in-depth content, features listings for tourism partners in Hernando County, and highlights the activities offered on the Nature Coast.

The Tourism Bureau says all the details needed to plan a Nature Coast vacation can be found on the new site, which includes intuitive, user-friendly content and navigation along with photos for visual appeal.

Hernando County, Florida -- Did you know Hernando County Public Library offers free classes?

It's true. All that is needed is a Hernando County Library Card ID and that allows people to sign up to 5 courses. People then have 6 months to finish each course.

Florida State Parks announces new, free mobile app

Florida-- Trees, lakes, trails, wildlife- they're all things that come to mind when thinking about Florida's parks. Techonology, smartphones and applications, howeverm are probably the last things to come to mind- until now!

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Park Services department has announced the launch of their new, free mobile application, which will serve as an interactive guide for users on the go at any of Florida's 171 parks, trails and historic sites.

Tampa Bay, Florida -- All Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate high school teachers from Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Manatee and Sarasota counties are invited to participate in a one-day workshop at The University of Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 23, to learn how to inspire students to take their interest in chemistry outside of the classroom.

The free event will be held in the Plant Hall Music Room on campus from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes lunch. The media is welcome to attend.

Brooksville, FL -- Hernando County Government Broadcasting is looking for volunteer assistance with editing video projects. Experience Adobe Premiere 5.5 software is preferred, and the volunteer would need to contribute up to 16 hours per week as their schedule permits.
