Brooksville, FL -- The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has approved a permit to practice veterinary medicine for the Hernando County Animal Services facility.

Managing Veterinarian Dr. Lisa Centonze performed her first surgeries on Thursday, March 28. According to Dr. Centonze, this now means that any dog or cat adopted from the facility will be sterilized, vaccinated, treated for fleas and other parasites, and tested for certain diseases. 

Hernando County, Florida-- All Hernando County government offices will be closed Monday, February 18, 2013, in observance of Presidents' Day.

The Hernando County Solid Waste Management facility will remain open on February 18th. The east and west solid waste convenience centers are always closed on Mondays.

Please not that Republic Services will provide trash collection service on Monday, February 18, so if that is your trash day, please make sure you have your trash out. 

All County offices will reopen on Tuesday, February 19th.
