Tampa Bay, Florida--  The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) invites residents from seven local counties to join in upcoming talks about the region's future transportation plans and priorities.

TBARTA reps say they will host telephone "TownHall meetings" for 10 days starting Monday, April 1.

An automated system will call between 40,000 and 80,000 per night to extend an invite to the forum, and then TBARTA reps will take it from there to answer questions and respond to comments.

Citrus County, Florida-- The traffic signal at the intersection of Pine Ridge Blvd. and County Road 486 will be put into flash Friday, March 29 while workers reconfigure for the new lanes. 

The contractor, D.A.B., will have the signal back to normal on Saturday, March 30.

Hernando County, Florida-- The Department of Transportation has announced non-construction lane closures for commuters to consider next week. 

They are as follows:

Cortez Boulevard (SR 50) between US 19 and the Suncoast Parkway

  • Widening – Nightly lane closure Sunday – Thursday from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am. 

US 19 between Cortez Boulevard (SR 50) and the Hernando/Citrus County Line

Hernando County, Florida -- The Hernando County Transportation Services Department has announced that portions of Grass Finch Road in the northwestern portion of the county (off of Hexam Road) will be closed over the next couple of weeks while drainage work is being done in preparation for paving of the road.

On March 14th and 15th the portion of the road between Meadow Swallow Avenue and Hexam Road will be closed. March 18th through March 22, the intersection of Grass Finch Rd. and Meinert Ave. will be closed.  Access for local residents will be maintained during this time.

Hernando County, Florida-- The Utilities Department of the Environmental Services Division has sent notices to Hernando Beach residents advising that construction of a new water main is currently out to bid with the intent of beginning construction in early May, 2013.

The notices specifically address those on the following roads:

Hernando County, Florida-- "Click it or ticket!" You've heard the slogan many times before, but in an effort to make sure it really sinks in, Hernando deputies and officers of other agencies will be strictly enforcing the rule between tomorrow, March 1, and Saturday, March 16. 

Their efforts are a contribution to the regulalrly launched "Click it or ticket" campaign, which reminds drivers of the importance of seatbelts.

Brooksville, Florida -- Sheriff Al Nienhuis has announced that the Hernando County Sheriff's Office is joining with hundreds of other law enforcement agencies across Florida and the nation to kick off the "Click It or Ticket" campaign.

The "Click It or Ticket" campaign runs from March 1, 2013 through March 16, 2013.  During this time, Hernando County deputies will actively enforce all safety belt violations.
