Brooksville, Florida -- On Sept. 11, eight volunteers graduated from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Public Service Aide Academy.

The academy is eight weeks long (one day per week), consisting of classroom work, ride-along opportunities with Public Service Technicians, and practical driving instruction.

Now that the academy is complete, the Public Service Aides will begin the Field Training portion of the program.
